Washer will not fast spin
« on: July 28, 2010, 07:39:50 PM »
Expect for the fast spin all washer functions work just fine.  The spin cycle starts, it performs what I'd call a pre-spin (going back and forth a few times), then times out and ends the wash cycle. Anybody know why this unit won't fast spin?

Take of the panel with the two visible screws, take off the front panel, and take off the panel that covers the door lock assy.  Plug your machine back in, and watch the wax motor.  (its the brown part on the left with the plunger sticking out in the lock assy.).  See if it moves and engages the door lock and spin enable switch.  If there is no motion of the plunger out of the wax motor.  Replace the wax motor and machine control board located on the top right corner of the dryer compartment.

schaffersapplian, thanks for the info.  Was simple enough to test and remove. As suspected, there was NO movement from the plunger on the wax motor.  I've ordered a new one, along with the control board.   I'll confirm completion and fix when I install the parts.

This is my first experience with this site and I'm greatly impressed!

Thanks again, CJdiyer

One more question: looking at the cost of the control board at over $200, I want to be sure I have the right one and absolutely need it.  Can you respond to both issues? Thx

here's what I'm looking at ordering: http://www.repairclinic.com/SSPartDetail.aspx?s=t-MUE2000AYW-%3d%3dc13i1032714&PartID=1032714

thats the one!  My last service call of the day was this same exact problem.  Burt r11 resistor on the control board, and a shot wax motor.

schaffersapplian, parts arrived today and within 2 hours (I know - novice time!) I was back up and washing/spinning again.  Both the R11 and R75 resistors were blown and the wax motor shot.  Thanks for making this so easy!!

If your R75 was blown as well, that means you most likely had an issue with your water as well.  No big deal though.  I'm glad you got it fixed!
