Newly installed Idler pulley hits drum

Thanks JW, I looked in the grove and followed it for a full rotation.  The groove is clear.  Looked again at idler pulley.  It is bobbing up and down as the scallops go by.  It is falling into each scallop and then bumping the other side of the scallop.  This causes a tom tom noise. Two beats per revolution of the drum.
 
Thanks. the oldstoveguy.  I have used two belts.  One 92" long replacement for 341241and one 94 1/8" long 337019.  What is the 337388?

Is it possible to get the wrong idler pulley assy.  The new one I got looks almost like the old one.

Match them length wise, old belt to new. I put in that model # and came up with the other belt part #, different length. That would make the idler run as you said.

What part number did you get when you put in that model number?

If you go to SEARS site, look under parts. Put in model but leave off the OD on the end of your model number, you can see all of the parts for that dryer and part numbers. That was made by Whirlpool so can go back to any parts site and use the Whirlpool part number which is part number 337388. The 337019 is a different length.
