Amana Gas Dryer won't run

My Amana gas dryer will not run.  I receive an error code on the front panel that looks like tS.  Could this be a problem with the thermistor?  If so, how to replace?    Thanks

This is the 27" dryer by Samsung that is made under the Maytag labels, including Admiral and Amana. The ts code means the thermister is shorted. This part is located on the blower duct in the cabinet.

thanks.....  just curious, what would make this part fail?  The dryer is only about 18 months old.

A restricted vent or the wrong vent hose can cause the early demise of heating parts on a dryer. Be sure you do not have foil duct on back...use the semi-rigid type instead. The instructions that come with the dryer are pretty clear in this regard.

BTW, they time those parts to fail only after the 1 year warranty is up

I changed out the thermistor and still get the same code t5.  In service mode, it gives me a code 1 which also points to the thermistor. The resistance across the new thermistor is 11k ohms where the old one was around 17k ohms.  I checked the resistance across the thermostat 1 which is next to the thermistor and it shows .1 ohms, which should be good.  I also thoroughly cleaned all areas where lint could accumulate.  Any other suggestions?
