ge washer no agitation

I have a washer which will spin drain fill just not agitate??? Any ideals hopefully not the transmission?? Is there anything else 2 look for? also unstable durning spin do u just buy new bungies??  tks for your help  JPG

those bungies usually stretch and break or both. They run around 3 dollars a piece,as for the agitate part the agitator drive block has stripped out most likely. Grab the agitator by the neck and snatch it out. A bolt hold the agitator drive block onto the transmission. Remove it and inspect the splines.
