No water getting to Ice Machine

Hi,

We have a problem with our GE TFX20 Refrigerator. No water is getting to the Ice Machine. Mains supply good, through filter good & down to regulator valve/switch? , but from there no water to Ice maker.

Any help greatly appreciated

Make sure power is getting to valve and water is going thru valve ,if it is then your water line is kinked or frozen .Check right behind ice maker.Where water goes into ice maker.

If you are careful you can test the water valve by simple applying power to the solenoid. Even though the solenoid itself may have continuity the innards if the water valve might have failed. I use an old lamp cord that I connected a couple alligator clips to. I plug into wall current for a sec to see if water shoots out the valve. I do it 4 or 5 times to see if the coil gets hot and quits.

Manually fill the icemaker with water .Set the I/M switch to the on position.If it dumps the ice and does not re-fill,remove the icemaker and inspect the water fill tube coming to the ice maker.
It may be frozen shut.
If so you can use a hair dryer to defrost the tube.
