Why are the Friedrich QuietMaster SS12L10 so expensive, Are they really worth $900+ for a 12,000 BTU unit?

Because they are pretty dang good air conditioners. I would buy that over a crappy overseas model. Everthing is so dang much money these days. That price seems steep to me, I ain't priced any lately.
