LG LW1210ER 12,000BTU unit Question

I now have 2 LG LW1210ER units.  These units have a much less powerful fan speed on #3 than my previous  LG LWHD1209R 12,000 units. The new 1210's don't seem to cool the room as well as the 1209R's. It this because of the new refrigerant or just because the fans inst throwing the air as far out into the room?

Do different mfgs units have better cooling abilities(colder) or is a 12,000 the same across all mfgs

Also what do the  members here recommend for a brand?

I recommend Electrolux, Fedders or Whirlpool. Stay away from Haier and LG(Goldstar)

Electrolux do they make frigidaire ?

Yep they make Frigidaire, Westinghouse, Kelvinator, Gibson, and Tappan. All are superior to LG and Haier in every way.

They are supposed to all cool equally well. Anything will break down. So let's keep that in mind for a sec. I know one day my X window unit is gonna break down. I am gonna need parts for it. Can I easily get them? Or do I have to special order them from Timbuktu?
Does anybody have problems with this window unit? Just because an appliance has a nice energy star rating does not mean it is worth a damn in my opinion.
