LG Main PWB Melt Down

LG WM2487HWM Washer. Can anyone tell me what may have caused this part of the Main Board to over draw current and melt.  I don't want to replace it without looking for the cause.  The unit would not enter spin, seemed to drain fine.  But groaned to try and agitate.  Got a popcorn kernel out of the drain area after some work, pulled the drain pump and tested it, seems to work fine connected to 110 but had alot of Gray slimy grime in it.  No error codes before the meltdown, and it won't turn on now.  I have the main board ordered but, once again, would like to confirm the source of the problem.  I attempted to attache a jpg of the main board.

The root cause is using too much detergent.
The washer will overwork itself trying to clear the water on oversudsing conditions. This causes motor overheat and sensor damage. The capacitor probably got hot with excessive motor amp draw. You can replace that capacitor for about a dollar.

Do you know the correct amounts to use for this machine?
The correct amount is as follows:

HE: (2) Tablespoons Per Wash load

HE 2X (double concentrated) : (1) Tablespoon

HE 3X (triple concentrated): (1) Teaspoon

You might want to try Mr John's washing machine cleaning suggestion:

Add a packet of "TIDE WASHING MACHINE CLEANER" directly into the tub (no laundry) and close the door.

Press and hold: SPIN SPEED & SOIL LEVEL buttons--then press POWER button.
Wait for door to lock.

Press the START button (6) times--this will fill the tub with hot water to the maximum setting when it stops filling.

Press the START button two more times--this will enable the tub to tumble.
After 3 hours--turn "off" the washer.
Turn the washer back "on".
Select the shortest wash cycle (usually "quick wash") and press "START".
