maytag performa transmission replacement

i just changed the transmission in my maytag performa pav2300aww and now it wont spin at all. i dont know if it is something with the brake or something else? any ideas?

Is it trying to spin ? Is the lid switch connected? Is the pump turning free?

When you replaced the transmission, did you re-install the brake rotor & spring correctly using the  special brake tool? (Common mistake by rookie)
Did you also replace the old thrust bearing assembly under the drive pulley, or did you check the old bearing as you removed it? (New improved kit for this)

Make sure you put all the washers back on the tub pully (big pully on the bottom) before installing the C-clip. If they are not put on it will not allow the brake to fully release. Had this happen b4.

In case you did not know, those washers make up the thrust bearing assembly, as I already mentioned.

If you put too many washers the tub won't lock down and the clothes will be knotted all up. If you do not have enough the brake won't release.
