Fridge name: GE Profile
Fridge model: TCX18PAABRWW
Year purchased: 1999
Problem: water is dripping from a worn drain grommet seal behind the fridge,
and onto the floor under the fridge.
This problem originally happened two years ago, and at that time, I sealed
holes in the worn grommet seal with silicone. This solved the problem for the
two year duration, but now the water leak in the same area has started up again.
My best guess is that this repair problem has to do with the quality of the silicone.
Is there a particular type of silicone that is best suited for this type of job?
I’ve included a photo of the drain grommet seal with this posting as it appeared two years ago, just before I applied a good amount of silicone to holes around the seal.
Besides silicone, is there another solution to this problem that is more permanent?
Thanks for any tips.
