Did you change the control board behind the timer?  check for a burnt R11 resistor

I haven't pulled the board yet...but let me run this by you.  I replaced the board approximately 60 days ago, because the hot water would not run.  After replacing the board, I had no problem, hot water, correct spin.  The "old" board has resistors R 11 and R 75 burnt, and I am considering getting the board repaired for a spare.  So, what do you recommend??

I would send that old board to FIXYOURBOARD.com and let them fix it.  You will also need to replace a few other components on it, for 1 the Q6 triac.   In regards to the machine not spinning now, the first place to check is the R11 on the new board?   Did you replace the board before you replaced the wax motor?

Yes, I replaced the board approx 60 days ago, due to no hot water....just replaced the wax motor today.  And of course, now the dingy thing doesn't work.  Do you have any idea of what the turn around time is for the website you sent me to is??

Not sure, but I know a few of the other guys do.  If you had a burnt R11 2 months ago, and just changed the board.  The wax motor blew out the new board.  Then you changed the wax motor out.  Again. inspect the new board.

You were right!!  The R-11 is blown, probably the other one too, I just left it hooked up.  So.........if I get the board repaired, this new wax motor shouldn't burn the new one out?  This is sooooo aggravating.......but you have been a great help!!

How long ago did you change the wax motor? how many loads? and what color is the tip that moves? Is it brown or black?  If it has a brown tip, it needs to be replaced with a black one.

Get both boards repaired, save yourself on shipping.  O0

I just replaced the wax motor 6/24.........attempted to run a (1)  load through and the door lock light wasn't lit, and it didn't spin out correctly.  What other board are you referring to?  The only one that I have replaced is the main control board.  The estimate that I got from Fixyourboard.com is rather pricey.........only $ 60.00 under a brand new one.

Another dumb question............what is causing the resistors to burn??  the old wax motor (brown tip) , or are they defective on the board from the factory?  My concern is, if I were to find another Maytag board, since I have replaced the wax motor, would an older one resolve the problem??

The wax motor has a heater inside it that melts wax and as it does it shoves a pin forward and locks the door. When the door is locked the pin inside the wax motor touches a contact point inside the wax motor and sends back electrical current to the R-11 resister and onward to the Q-6. So what goes wrong? The wax inside the wax motor disipates and the lack of resistance from it allows straight 125 volts to zap the R-11 and Kill the Q-6 :

Replaced the R-11 on the board and the triac Q-6.  The washer will now run and spin out correctly, but I have lost the hot water, continue to have cold, but no hot.  Also, just for the info, it seems to take a longer time to unlock the door at the end of the cycle.  We just used the on/off button to get it to release.  Got to say, this has been one frustrating piece of machinery!!   :tickedoff:
