Top load washer just fills and drains
« on: June 24, 2010, 05:42:37 AM »
Washer suddenly stopped everything except filling and draining.  Even when draining the pump does not appear to shut off when tub is empty.  Any clues?

Sounds like a Lid switch or motor, or belt.  Pop the front panel and see if the belt is still attached.

Try this first:
Unplug the machine for one minute. Plug back in and raise and lower the lid six times within 12 seconds. Retry. Did that work? If not I have more.

Resetting did not work!  Belt is on and looks to be in good shape.  What next?  Pressure switch?

The motor has an idiot light on it that is supposed to stay on if the motor is ok. If their is a failure the light blinks ever so many blinks and lets you know what the problem is. If the light is not on then the inline fuse (wh49X10041)  in the red and white wire is blown.
