that kenmore does not have a lint filter so you gonna have lint.

Lint or lint-like residue on the load after a wash is caused by several factors:

1. Cold water.  To properly activate the detergent, the water temperature must be 85 degrees or higher. If the detergent cannot dissolve well, residues will be present as whitish streaks or lines on the clothes. On top loaders, add the detergent first, then start the water before adding clothes.

2. Hard water. Water hardness directly affects the way detergents act. If you have hard water, consider switching to granular detergent and a warmer wash temperature. Do not use liquid fabric softeners.

3. Water Levels.  On a top loader, the water level should be kept on the highest setting, regardless of load size. This prevents the items from rubbing against each other and the base of the agitator so much. With a higher level, the load will roll gently around and not be abraded as much. Plus, the less weight you can put on the agitator base, the longer your seals and transmission will last.

there is a lint filter attached to the bottom of the inner tub, its supposed to be self cleaning but might be coated with gunk and not functioning anymore.

you can try running the machine on a smal load of water empty and use some affresh cleaner, its designed for front loads but might clean your filter

if not you must remove the inner tub then give the filter a good scrubbing, removal of the inner tub requires a special spanner wrench
