Kenmore 70 Series Washer

This washer does everything right, until it gets to the spin cycle and begins to slow down. Or if its on the spin cycle and you start to raise the lid it will shake like crazy.  I'm not talking about a lil vibration, i'm talkin the walls are coming down.  Also, once I got it stopped i reached in and spun the tub manually and as it spins there is one spot that it gets to it will pop realllllly loud.  

Whats the thoughts on this?

Replace the brake/basket drive assembly which sits between the tub and transmission. If the ears of the drive block under the agitator are worn, it should be replaced as well.
