Oven takes a long time to come up to temperature.
Noticed the flame goes out and comes back on.  lately smelling some gas.

Is it the main valve of a temperature sensor problem?

A weak ignitor can cause this problem as well as a bad temperature sensor.
You can turn off the gas.
Access the ignitor.
Use a clamp on amp meter around one ignitor wire.
Turn the control to bake and check the amp draw.
Less than 3.5 amps,replace the ignitor.
The temp sensor can be unplugged and read with a ohm meter.
Look for 1100 ohms +/- 50 ohms.
If not in this range replace the temp sensor.
