Whirlpool Cabrio Tub Bearing

Greetings all as I am new to the forum.  I have searched here, but not found the answer to my problem just yet - as they say, squeeky wheels get the grease so here goes  

I have a Cabrio that is roughly 2yrs old that we purchased new - it has been a great washer for us, but now has a cold water inlet valve faulty causing "LF" code (which I have been circumventing with warm water settings), and now it appears our tub bearing is going out - this thing sounds like a F16 on takeoff when on the spin cycle

I have been employed as a mechanic, and have access to a fair amount of tools and mechanical knowledge.  I see that others here with different model washers have been able to replace just the bearings upon teardown of their washers - saving the $300+ expense of a new tub/bearing assembly.

I have downloaded the parts manual for this unit and do not see that there is a part number for the bearing, and I do not know if it is a part of the tub or the drive motor.  Has anyone tackled this particular model for repair of the tub bearing assembly?  Or is it a part of the motor?  If it has to be replaced all at once or if I have to replace the drive motor I'm probably in the market for a new washer.

I've changed out the outer tub .  If you have any mechanical aptitude at all its a simple repair . Time consuming because you basically strip the machine but easy if you follow the service manual ,and keep track of what goes where. The outer tub comes with the drive shaft already pressed through the bearing . In my opinion the tub is too flimsy to try and pull the old bearing and shaft and install a new one . I doubt you could find the part anyway . The first thing I'd be doing is phoning the whirlpool consumer line ,plead your case and try to get a part concession . Good luck.

Thank you for your reply/insight.  With this information in mind, I don't think I'm willing to invest the amount of time, effort, and monies to repair this "jewel" - even if it is a relatively easy repair.  At this juncture I think I'll throw this 2yr old Whirlpool in the trash  and buy a new unit of another brand.

Get a ROPER direct drive.
Why get a Roper washer?
It has no fancy motor that needs an inverter to power it.
It has no fancy on board intel that gives out codes for too much soap.
It is a proven design that will last for years.
Parts are cheap and repair is simple.

Thats too bad I think its a great washer .,maybe too much electronics but I also agree with JW ,can't get more simple and easy to fix than a direct drive washer ,don't think "another brand " will give you trouble free service .Ain't gonna happen no more !

You cannot beat A Roper.
 I dare you to find a better washer on the market for the money.
Their is NOTHING else out there close.
