Amana washer leaking from underneath
« on: May 31, 2010, 12:27:59 PM »
I have an older amana washer that is leaking from underneath.  I've attached a picture for clarification.  Should I try to fix it myself, call a prof, or buy a new one?

How much would it cost for the repair?

It looks like you need a hub and seal kit R9900552  and a main bearing 40004201P. I used to do these all the time under warranty. It requires some special spanner wrenches, and probably isn't worth it on an older machine the repair.

Thanks so much for the info.  Guess it's time to search for a new washer.  Now I have an excuse!

A Roper washer is what you should seek.

What Klonny said. Plus it is a great buy and easy to maintain.  I highly recommend it.
