Maytag Gas range control panel not functioning

The control panel on my gas range isn't functioning the only button which works is the cancel, however the clock is functioning can any one suggest a possible cause

Unplug the range.
Remove the wires from the control.
Re-attach the control wires.
Plug the range in and see what happens.
If it still does not work after that replace the ERC(control).
