Midea dishwasher help needed

I just bought a second hand Midea wqp12-9240a dishwasher, I cannot find a manual anywhere for it.
When I tested it (in the backyard with garden hose hooked up to it at low pressure) I could hear it washing and the light above the water symble was flashing, is this normal?, this seemed to go on for ages untill I turned it off before going to the next cycle, how long should each cycle last?, any help or advice on this model would be greatly appreciated.

Like many Euro models, it may be looking for the water to heat to a specific temp. This heater malfunction may be why you were able to get the unit "second-hand".

Perhaps it was the fact that I had cold water hooked up to it do you think?
I did notice that the water was warm when I did open the door, maybe just not heated up to the temp required yet.

I will test again tomorrow hooking it to a hot water source.

That's why cold water does not work well in a dishwasher

The heater is only capable of raising the tub temp about 1 degree every 1.5 minutes. It would take over 90 minutes to heat a cool tub to 140 degrees. This would occur  on every cycle where the watwer is supposed to be regulated by temperature, including  the rinse.
