This Frigidaire GLTF1040AS0 washer begins the cycle by filling, then justs tumbles clockwise and counterclockwise until the cycle ends and the end of cycle buzzer goes off.

I followed the "Drive Motor Tumbles very slowly in any timer position" portion of the troubleshooting guide and measured 185.3 Ohms between pins 3&4 of the 10 pin plug.  That reading, I thought, led me to the defective speed control board branch, so off I went to purchase a new board.

I installed the board with the same result.  I then looked at the "Drive motor tumbles but does not spin" portion and measured voltages on spin: pin 1 34.2, pin 2 35.3, pin 6 122.1, pin 9 37, pin 10, 34.6.  This showed a defective timer....

So, I can return the speed control board (20% restock), but want to know if you think the timer will fix my issue.....or am not reading the charts correctly?

What other troubleshooting steps can you suggest to isolate the issue?

Thanks in advance.

First check the OHM readings of your old board and compare them with the new one. It would not be unusual to have 2 problems in a machine instead of just one. If the old and the new boards measure the same, it's a safe bet youneeded a timer to start with. The manual is fairly vague, leading you to replace both the speed control and the timer as well if the speed control does not work. Had you bought the part thru these sources, you could have returned it with no restock fee.

inspect the bottom of the timer, its not uncommon for a bad off balance load to cause the tub to smash into the bottom of the timer bending the timer case and causing the white plug to become loose

if the timer is bent also check both shocks and make sure they are not broken
