Kenmore 400 Series Washer

I have a kenmore 400 washer, that leaks. Not sure where it is coming from. Possibly the top or the sides. I need help on this problem

Please post the full model number. The model number can be found on the model/serial number tag that is located on the washer.

Sears model numbers start with three digits and end with eight digits.
For example:

Model Number: 123.12345678

Hi,

Chances are it is just the water pump leaking. Once you remove the cabinet and look around you should be able to tell for sure were the water is coming from.

I looked up your model number and found it uses pump # 3363394

Hello, seems that the washer is splashing out the top inside and comes out at the top. Its not on the bottom. We run it on small loads only.

So you removed the cabinet and looked for the leak then or are you still just trying to guess with the cabinet on the washer. Leaks are often easy to find because it's just a matter of removing the washer cabinet and looking to see were the water is leaking from.

The water is splasing from the tub on the inside walls. Which the water droplets will run down the inside walls.

Check the water inlet spout. This is the part that the water spays through just before it enters the tub. It should be mounted to the back of the washer. Sometimes one side or both sides come undone and then the water hits the top of the washer.

Sometimes the water inlet spout gets hard water deposits built up in it and the water ends up dripping out of the corners of it as the washer fills. The drops from the corner get the top of the tub wet and it splashes around from there.

Its when it agitates it sprays out of the top onto the inside of the sides

We run it on small loads only.
Run a full tub of water and see if it leaks.
Sounds to me like the agitator is slinging water because of the small load quantity.
Take a Kid fishing.
