WHIRLPOOL FRONT-LOAD WASHER
« on: April 24, 2010, 02:11:57 PM »
I recently picked this unit up from a friend.  She said it had problems, and I told I wouldn't mind tinkering with it.  It runns for about 4 minutes, then comes up with an error code of F6.  She told me that they replaced the MCU and the CCU.  Just wondering what else I need to check.

Model GWH9150PW0

Check all the connection from your MCU to CCU and to the motor. Unplug and reinstall to remove and build up.  If mcu was changed check the small connector on the top of the MCU . It can be plugged in wong ... the wire will face to the right... let me know if it helps

I would also check the tub rotation. make sure if spins freely and that the motor spins easy...check for over subs as it will slow down the tub in spin..

Well, the tub spins freely. Did all the connections and started a cycle.  It washed fine, tumbling as it washed.  Drained and spun that cycle, then filled for a rinse and when it started to agitate back and forth, the belt would squeel a little when changing direction. and after a few time agitating back and forth, the timer would start blinking, like something timed out.  wait about 20 seconds, it would quit blinking and back to agitating. I went back and helped the pulley go back and forth, but the motor would slip on the belt slightly, but finished the rinse cycle.  when it came to drain and spin.....same thing, had to aid it along or it would time out, and restart the drain cycle until I finally got it to spin enough for the motor to take over, then finished that cycle. next rinse gradually got worse....timed out enough and got the F6 code.

I talked to the previous owner, and I guess he checked the rpm's to be okay, but the belt did look shiny, and i put a mark on the small pully off the motor, and it would spin a couple of times before the belt would grab.

Thanks for all of your advice, it has been very helpful.  But, yesterday I got home to find out that my wife fired me.....and bought a new one. :tickedoff:  So....know anybody that needs some parts, I guess I'll just scrap it out.  Thanks again.  But she did say she was gonna give me time on fixing the dryer.....oh great..
