Maytag Washing Machine wont turn on

Have power to outlet and machine wont turn on when knob is pulled....where do i start?

    Thats A washer JW!  When you pull the knob out in a any spot it doesn't work? or just in one spot.  IE. It fills but then nothing, or i can get the machine to spin, but not fill?

Try what schaffers said. This will help narrow down the problem since its electrical and theres a couple of things Im seeing in the wiring diagram that could be the problem. If you get nothing in any spot on the dial, Get yourself a good meter and check to see if you have 120v to timer with the machine plugged in and the timer on.

I got this same washer for free but its only problem was the thrust bearing. Its been good to me since I replaced that.
