Service Manual
« on: April 13, 2010, 02:55:26 PM »
I am looking for the service manual for this microwave/oven combo to replace the door switch in the microwave. Display shows a DOOR error and one of the switches is not latching. Thanks in advance for your help.

Getting a manual on that site takes some clicking...lots of clicking.

On the servicematters.com home page, hover your mouse over technical resources then click technical referance. On the next page under all the warnings, click accept. On the page that opens click technical library. A page with service updates, technical librarys and job aids will open, click job aids then click the small arrow pointing to what it is your looking for. On that same page on the left there is a link to Apartment Maitanence job aids. They are prety good to.

Ok I am gonna try to post a link and see what happens:
Service matters docs link

OK that seems to be working so now I am gonna pick job aids and look for microwave door switch service pointers.

You could be there all day messing with that

What you just described seems like a lot of clicking to me too. ;)

At the bottom of every page here there is a link I click called Manuals. It should be noted that there is not a service manuals available for every appliance out there.

The manuals link is wonderful as well as the search link. Because lots of times techs will contribute links to manuals that are not found in the manuals section. Fearless leader has spared no expense in providing cutting edge information to help the common man (and woman) O0

The servicematters link should never be given to the general public. Some things are trusted to techs to keep somewhat private. You can always link to the manuals or tech sheets without  deliberately advertising the site as you did here. Let's not  give away all  our proprietary info at one fell swoop.

Servicematters.com right now is public domain. Anyone can access it, anyone can surf thru it and anyone download from it. Google Whirlpool service and it shows up.

Google results:  Dang it boy!

 ;D ;D ;D

I have also heard that the Whirlpool site might be going non public in the future, so far Ive found nothing that backs up that rumor.

Yes, there were  'rumors' of that nature when WP hired a new IT guy to redesign their site. He claimed at the time that he would start preparations to make the site "Tech only" soon, but so far they have left it open to the  public. Having it available to just anyone cuts down on the effectiveness of sites like mine and AJs,however no one doubts the benefit of having technicians use it for reference.
