Whirlpool LTE washer fills but won't agitate

We bought a used but recent Whirlpool Thin Twin. It has worked great for the last few months, and is in well cared for shape. Today it filled for a cycle, but the washer wont agitate, just sits filled with water.  I switched it around through all of the wash cycles with no success.  The dryer works fine, so I know the main power is on.

Any suggestions?  I have heard that the lid switch can be the problem.  Is this easy to check?  If not the lid switch, then what is the next likely suspect?  Thanks for any help or suggestions.
