Hi... I realize there are a ton of threads about ice makers that aren't producing much ice on this forum. But i'm a frustrated newbie to DIY appliance repair and don't even understand the terms. I learned "top-mount" and "harvest" today. People advise replacing the filter or checking the water valve or whatever but I have no idea what those things even look like let alone where to find them. Best I could do was pop the front plastic plate of the icemaker off to reveal a removable copper plate, with some plastic gears that said turn but seemed pretty stuck.
Basically I need pictures of where to find the parts, or better yet a good video.
I looked here and this video is dead:
http://appliancejunk.com/forums/index.php?topic=55.0I found some hilariously useless videos on youtube where a guy stands in front of a fridge for a while and talks about checking the water valve without showing it.
