Hotpoint dual agitator washer
« on: April 01, 2010, 10:26:46 PM »
Can't find the service manual. Do I need a small bearing puller to remove the agitate spline from the shaft or should it work loose with a vise grip?

Model WLW4700B

I got one in the back yard I could not get off with a hacksaw. My friend Larry from Larry's appliance parts of Prichard, Alabama says he uses a saws-all to get them drive block's off.

Thats not good news. Didn't GE expect those rubber splines to wear out?

So should I scrap this washer? I'm not trying the saws-all method. There's other parts that can be damaged. Can anybody else weigh in on this?

A tranny is easy to replace in that machine. That is a washer worth repairing, beats the junk out there now.
