Most common failure for door not locking is the failure of the wax motor that engages that lock mechanism. The easiest way to tell is to, unplug the machine, unscrew the 3 Phillips screws on the top of the console, and inspect the control board mounted on the right side. If the wax motor has failed, you will see a burn mark on the r11 resistor located roughly around the middle of the board. To resolve the problem, you should order a new wax motor, and machine control board.
