Refrigerator not working

The display panel suddenly went blank and the refrigerator stopped working.  This LG LRSC26980TT refrigerator is only 3 yrs old.  Any idea what could be wrong before I call a repair tech?

First check the obvious and verify power at the electrical outlet.

Thanks.  There's power to the frig.  The interior lights come on and the TV still works.  I was hoping that maybe there's a fuse somewhere I could check before calling someone.

This is usually a MAIN BOARD failure.

Thanks.  Had service tech. check and verified the circuit board was shot.  You would think that you would get more than 3 1/2 years out of frig. before something goes wrong.  So much for quality.

I'm guessing that this means you're biting your tongue, JW.

The MAIN BOARD is located at the top of the refrigerator. Once it has been confirmed that the MAIN BOARD is indeed a failed part--nearly anyone with basic skill can replace it. All the plug connections to the board are different--it is not possible to miswire it.
After installing a new board--it does help to buy a single-plug surge protector for just the refrigerator.
Owners that live in areas where electricity fluctuates (rural areas or near heavy electrical-demand manufacturing centers) can purchase a UPS device (Uninterruptible Power Supply).
An internet search can provide a number of different brands and prices.

The amp rating of a Line Voltage Conditioner for a refrigerator should be equal to or greater than the compressor Locked Rotor Amps (LRA).
