kinmore washer don't spin.

ok;so i checked to see if there was apause after the wash cycle stoped and there is about a 2 min pause, when the timer advances to drain the tub don't spin. the water drains out then goes into the rinse cycle water sprays in tub just sit there unless i stop and start it again then it will spin. i have to do this for the last spin too. is it still the timer? can i check the contacs on the timer?

Yes you need a timer. The neutral drain transmission allows for the pump to remove the water. When the machine comes to a halt, the force from stopping shifts the spin pawl and the next time power is applied the whole shebang spins. If you are having to manually move the timer forward then the timer motor is shot and you needs a new timer. The timer motor is not a replaceable part.
