Water temp control

Do I need to have hot and cold water to test this washer? The cold water won't work on any setting. How could I find a manual online for this washer. I have the manual "Accuwash automatic temp control", should I go by that manual on this washer? It is almost the weirdest of the direct drive washers. Thanks in advance.

Could not get a reading on the thermistor mounted on the downspout. The water comes in through the detergent dispenser only. I changed the board. nothing. Water enters the machine on all settings (water temp) for 3 minutes only through the detergent dispenser. then stops and nothing from that point on. Why is the water not going out the down spout? Is it because the thermistor is open? Can I jump it out?

If a thermistor is open on a valve, it won't fill. If a thermistor is open on a range, it wont heat.  If a thermistor is open on a fridge, it won't cool.  I dont know about jumping it out though, that most likely won't work.

Another thing is, this washer has 2 water level switches. Why 2 water pressure switches? Get this, the tub to switch hose goes first to a switch with a T- connection an onward to another pressure switch.

Why do we need 2 water level switches? What does it all mean? This is a boogerbear here.

JW the thermister must work for the machine to work. The board is reading that item constantly during the fill and is programmed to look for irregularities. The extra level switch is intended for the econo-wash levels or rinses if I am not mistaken. This would be the Kenmore Elite model?
The 3-way distribution valve for the dispenser is a good example of boogerbear technology. (More to fail)

And yes...in answer to your earlier question, it MUST have hot water to work properly. Again, to conform to EnergyStar ratings, it has to provide a specific wash temp at all times, controlled by the AccuWash sensor and the board. Gotta love all this hi-tech crud.
