Top part of hinge broke, so washer door is still currently usable. Since I bought the extended warranty for $100 at Lowes, I called the service, they sent someone over last Friday, but of course, he didn't have that specific part on hand. He ordered two (one extra for later if it happens again) and I received them yesterday. Service guy's supposed to come Tuesday afternoon, but I was looking at the door and it looks pretty simple. Just remove the phillips screws on the front of the washer, then remove the door, then remove more screws on the door, then install new hinge in reverse order? I think I'll install it myself this weekend. Can anyone offer a diagram for removing the door and reinstalling the hinge or offer advice (if I left something out)? I don't mind if the service guy does the work, as it's covered in the warranty 100% (I figure I didn't have to pay for the parts, at least), but it's a bit of a pain having to wait for someone between 1 and 5pm next Tuesday, plus it's a pain to keep lifting up the door, putting the broken hinge in place and shutting the door. I'd like to take care of it today and have it done with.
