Whirlpool washer won't fill

Hi;
I have a Whirlpool WTW58ESVW top load washer that will not fill. The water valve is good and so is the lid switch. Sometimes if I open and close the lid I can get it to let a slight amount of water to come in. Unit spins ok. Does anyone have a manual for this washer or any ideas what it might be??

Is it the same in all cycles?

Is the problem for Hot and Cold water?
The water level switch should be checked,it may be stuck in the full tub setting. Wires should be checked. Voltage to the water valve?

Thanks for the replies. Yes its the same for all cycles and both hot and cold valves. If it was a stuck level switch it should start agitating which it does not. Thanks for the manual. Any other ideas???

check to make sure air hose isnt plugged up orloose from eithor the tub or the water level switch.
i had a lady yesterday call because the water wasnt filling in the rinse cycle. i get there and she didnt even have the cold water on...

I just looked at the manual and its not exactly right as far as the controls are concerned. This washer has a load sense control p/n W10177795 and an atc control p/n W10179666 and a flow meter. I need to know how to trouble shoot these controls.

The down spout has 2 orange wires attached with a thermister. You could at least check that for continuity. The washer has a automatic temp control and 3 inlet valves. I worked on one last friday. Inlet valve had the top solenoid open.

Thanks for the replies. The thermister is reading ok. When I took it apart there was one wire off it but I put it back on but it still wouldn't work. There are only two solenoids on this machine and if I energize them externally I can get water to flow. After the outlet of the valve there is a flow meter in the line. Does anyone know how this part is supposed to work??
