Door Leaking water little water
« on: February 18, 2010, 03:41:16 PM »
Ok, just notice a small amount of water leaks from bottom of door while washing. This LG WM2455HG washer is just 2 years old, what are things it could be, things I can check maybe. Door alignment? Need new gasket already? Thanks for any help.

LG recommends to relieve that problem of leaking to get the door to hold tighter against the frame. How? By removing  the door latch and adding washers behind the frame in between the latch and the frame. This distances the latch from the frame and therefore makes the door cling tighter to the frame.

Try cleaning the glass on the door first.

In the training video I have in my pc the instructor advises washers be added in between the catch and frame to distance the catch from the frame. That would make the door cling closer to the frame. Makes sense to me.

I have shimmed a few door locks back on GE's and Frigidaire's.  I use nylon washers from old Amana refrigerators. A few years ago at a Frigidaire class my rep told us about this trick. It has worked for me.

Thanks for replies guys, are there any video, or pics on doing this that could help me figure it out? I have cleaned the glass and gasket area already with no luck. Thanks.

I tried all day to get that stupid video to work. It is too big for youtube and the foggy blog dammit. It is 24  minutes long and 54 megs in size. :tickedoff:
