transmission / pulley
« on: February 17, 2010, 02:36:07 PM »
Hello:

I have a question on this washer... between the pulley and the transmission on bottom of washer is not tight. it seems over time it gets a click between each direction of agitation. the transmission was replaced 4 months ago but is outof warranty now. could that be just a bad pulley mayb a few of its teeth are missing? thats what it seems like...

If I change the xmission is there any thing else I need seals? pulley? etc. I noticed this happens on all ge washing machines over time the clicking just gets to loud..   tks     Jpg

Thanks for the manual !!I'm still not sure whats broken but it makes a lot of noise durning agiatation with that banging back and forth n the pulley area. would a bad motor / inverter do it or is most likely the shifter???   tks  JPG

Something might be in between. I think I read somewhere that you will hear the banging at the Start of the cycle and that is normal because the brain is doing a test to make sure the tub is in the proper position.
