Maytag Dryer starts up by itself. Sometimes start button problems

Neptune front load dryer starts all by itself. We have also had problems when starting. Mrs. says she would push start button and it would start then immediately stop. It would do this a few times then would work.

Now it is constantly starting on its own and running and running so we have to unplug it when not in use.

Problem with buttons, control board or what?

I got a code 8 but when testing buttons they all seemed to work. However when i disassembled and ohm'd the start/pause button the slightest touch would cause continuity momentarily. Also the button does not feel like the others with a definite click.

So i believe I have a bad start/pause button. Is my only solution to repace the entire control panel at about $170?

So I just found my original receipt dated Feb. 21, 2005  would the membrane control pad be covered under the 5 year warranty?

Also matching wash machine front loader. Will maytag replace the mouldy seal under warranty?
