No hot water

Good day all,

I happened upon this place while googiling possible probelms with a LG LDS5811ST Dishwasher.  I am being given this unit and don't have a model number yet.  However, my neighbor says that it doesn't get the water hot.  Is there a seperate element that heats the water?  I would have thought the water connection would have just supplied the water hot already.  Am I wrong?

Yes,there is a heater that boost the water temperature.

The regular hot water in your home is not hot enough to sanitize the dishes hence the heater element.

Is the element hard to replace or is it pretty straight forward?  Thanks for the quick responses.

This manual will help. It is fairly easy. Check it with your meter before installation and replace it then if it is bad.

Picked up the washer today.  The model # is Lds5811st.  I would assume I am checking heating element for continuity?

Update:
Installed machine and hooked everything up.  Started and I am getting an IE error.  Double checked and I have good water pressure to the hook up on the machine.  Any suggestions?

Ohm your water valve ,should be between 950 and 1300.I think

check and clean the inlet screens, you have an inlet error and that means the brains detected it took longer than expected to fill the washer. If they check out then find the small tube going to the control from tub and blow out the tube. Sediment may be causing a partial blockage.

Screen is clear the tube from the valve is clear.

Disregard above.  Pulled the side cover off and we are getting a little bit of water.  I pulled the water valve off and tried blowing thru it and nothing.  So I put 110v to it and can get a little air thru it.  Is it possible the valve is clogged internally even though the screen wasn't that bad?

If you had water connected to the valve with 110v and no water,yes,the valve is bad.
