GE Stove Concept II Designer Series -DOOR Error

Help ! I need some assistance.

I have a white 30" GE stove self clean w/ convection (Concept II Designer Series) approximately 7 years old. (model #CRCL3640ZWW-1)

There is this annoying error message: DOOR.
This is displayed while the oven is operating and then it stops the oven cooking process. This can happen at any time but is mostly intermittent.
-In addition, if you were to run the self clean, there is a potential for the DOOR error as well.

I find if I jigger the sliding latch handle side ways and slap the door a few times, she comes back.

I would like to disable what ever it is that is preventing the DOOR error -- by pass a switch. Not sure where to start. Any thoughts ?

GE had a crummy door latch mechanism there for a bit. You just need to use the Canadian parts lookup and get you a new latch assembly to correct your problem.
