Ge Ice Maker

Unit fills with water cycles, drains and refills ,as it should , but then it just keeps filling and draining. Compresor good board has been replaced now ge says replace water valve   Anyone have any info that may help.I know this is a whirlpool design with ge logos.

This is a bad control board in the top. And yes, this is made by the same folks who do the WP units. Marvel, I think.

Since this is similar to the WP design other than the logo, you should be able to use the WP freestanding IM manual to help you confirm the problem

I agree , the problem still is ongoing after 4 boards and a complete wireharness change.The last two boards had the numbers ver. and GE says it is the right board. I still go back to the board .But it was just replaced with harness and same problem?Everything checks on this unit ,any ideas why GE says replace watervalve

Check for power at the water valve throughout the cycle to see if power is continuously applied.

Replaced the water valve and unit works correctly,someone please explain this so it soaks in my thick head.Water vale has 5 wires going to it all from board.
