Series 70 Kenmore electric Dryer won't start

Is it possible that this is nothing more than a bad Push-On switch? It was working fine until yesterday morning.

Could be. But could also be a bad thermal fuse. Bad wiring.Bad motor.No 220 volts. We need a model number and more information.

You know JW you are good with these dryers I had one that continued to blow the fuse and finally the customer said they were hearing a squealing noise. The plastic squirrel cage fan had cracked where mounted to the shaft and was free wheeling and not blowing the air causing repetitive burn outs of the fuse. Just thought I would throw that in for thought. Sea Breeze

Might be a good idea to check the voltage at the outlet for 240 also. Some older homes have fuses and some had someone that knew knothing about wiring wire their home. For Example my Fathers house!

These dryers do not have that type blower wheel.
They seldom break.

Lardytub, sorry about the confusion.
Please start over.
Check for 220 volts at the wiring terminal where the cord connects.
Then check the wires at the cord terminal for a burned/broken wire.
If you have power there,remove the rear panel and check the fuse referenced by JW for continuity.
If that is OK check the door switch for continuity.
If that is OK check the start switch for continuity.
