No Final Spin??? front loader

I have a Kenmore front loader HE2 and the final spin cycle is inop. The machine gives me code F28. I cleaned the trap ( it was a mess/ didn't even know it was there/ not listed in the manual anywhere)and visually inspected other components

Communications error. Unplug machine look for loose connections in the harness.

Codes are coverted from indicator lights to codes via the repair manual.
Since I posted last I opened the back again looking for the obvious then checked to make sure the impeller on the drain motor was rotating. Ran machine on drain and spin again however this time codes came back as F11

You likely have a bad motor control unit (MCU)

To verify, place your leads across the black and white power wires at the MCU and monitor the voltage during a manual spin cycle. If 120 volts is going to the MCU and the drum does not spin the MCU is bad. Look carefully at the small wires  on the motor harness to make sure they are not broken from the motion of the tub during spin.

Would the machine operate normally in other cycles if the MCU was faulted???
I'm going in the wash room in few and look closer for broken leads. I really hate to start dumping money in this machine as I was never really happen with the noise this things makes during its operation (lots of buzzing and humming/ appeared to be pump harmonics contacting frame)

If the pump is loud or not discharging the water properly, even though you cleaned the screen, then the pump may be causing the fault. Only you can tell if the pump is draining every time. It helps to place your meter leads on the pump terminals and monitor voltage so you know when it is supposed to be running.

It drains fine. I get less than a cup of water from the main drain after I run the machine through drain and spin cycle. During this cycle the machine goes into its high speed operation and well as several other slow cycles however when it comes to the last/final high speed spin it cycles a few slow ccw spins then stops and a few moments later displays the fault lights. when you power down via the switch panel the door unlock normally with no residual water in the tub.

That's one of the characteristics of a bad MCU in my experience. If you order from one of the parts links here you can always return it if it does not solve your problem.

Thanks , I'll order a MCU. I just did a once over visual and nothing was out of order. I also did a diagnostic ck and it also points to the Motor or MCU.
 I ASSUME they are referring to the main tub belt driven motor?

Could you post the part number of the MCU you replaced?

I looked up a diagram of the washer and just was not sure what control got replaced to repair the washer.

You probably will be looking at a tub kit soon to alleviate the noise issue (bad bearings). The motor control board can be rebuilt at www.fixyourboard.com for a nominal fee compared to the cost of a new one. I would have the bad one re-built and kept in the closet for the next  failure. These days, it is better to repair rather than keep replacing a machine just because the cheap parts fail.

Refer to part # 280251 when you are ready to do the tub job
