Kenmore side by side frig ice issues

Hi, I have tried to troubleshoot this ice maker for a couple of weeks now. Cleaned the optical sensors, made sure water tube wasn't frozen up, replaced water valve (which wasn't the problem). Can't figure out why ice making is so sporatic and cubes are funny shaped, almost like the cubes freeze while the arms to kick the cubes out are in the down position, (cubes have holes in them where the arms were). could the ice maker be "out of time" and not following the correct sequence?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!

There is a hi-torque module kit for this unit which should solve the problem. It comes with a new ejector as well.
