Well you really need to take the drum out anyway so you can clean out the lint buildup and oil the rollers. Inspect the glides and idler and so forth. To access the machine is fairly easy. You first remove the power source. Then use a putty knife to pop the top. The door switch will come on off when you remove the front. Then you can get the drum out.
