RC224ADV Magic Chef Refrigerator - Ice Maker Flooding

This RC224ADV Magic Chef Side-by-Side Refrigerator is a older appliance, but it was in great working order.

The complaint was not with the refrigerator or freezer, but with the ice maker.

The ice maker would keep filling with water until the customer turned the ice maker off by lifting up the wire arm on the side of the ice maker.

I watched the ice maker cycle myself and when it come around to filling with water it did just what the customer said. The ice maker just kept filling with water until I turned the ice maker off by lifting up the wire arm on the side of the ice maker.

This was a sure sign that the problem was with the ice maker (part# D7824706Q) and not with the water valve (part# 12001414).

To get things working again for this customer is was simply a matter of replacing the ice maker.
