The customer of this
REL4634BL0 Roper Dryer told me that he had tried to repair the dryer himself but could not get it to work. He had replaced the heating element (
4391960) and it still would not heat. He also cleaned all the lint from the dryer and the vent.
When I got to the house to check the dryer it was sitting out from the wall unplugged and with the rear panel removed. This made it simple to check the thermal cut-offs on the side of the heater box.
I found that the top thermal cut-off was bad and needed to be replaced. I installed a thermal cut-off kit, part number
279769. Then I checked the blower housing/lint chute to make sure it did not have lint in it.
After putting the rear panel back on the dryer I connected the vent and plugged the dryer in. Then I started the dryer I went outside to check the air flow and to see if it was heating. The dryer was heating and there was good air flow.
