Happy New Year to everyone! So hubby and I decided to entertain at the shore house for NYE this year. Upon arrival, my suspicions were confirmed that my dishwasher was filling on it's own when not in use. I suspected it was filling slightly over the summer when I was living here full time but didn't think much of it as I used the dishwasher everyday and assumed that terrible DIYS'er previous owner hooked up the garbage disposal wrong and chalked it up to water "regurge". We've only had this home since June so I am uncovering little tid bits here and there.
After leaving the place for a few months, I noticed a few inches of water upon return (Thanksgiving) so I started "experimenting" and exploring. The only thing that has stopped the machine from filling on it's own while not in use is shutting the water supply off completely to the machine. So my gut tells me it's the water valve inlet as this is what holds and regulates the pressure for the machine from the water source.
Any thoughts before I order and replace it? Thanks in advance!
