Looking for a part

I have a whirlpool Model GU1500XTKS0 gold dishwasher. On the lower door hinges there is a small rubber band type part that rubs against the lower door just enough to keep the door in the fully open position while loading the washer.    

any help would be appreciated

You had your model number list as, GU1500XTKSO it should be GU1500XTKS0.
It is a Zero on the very end of the model number, not the letter "O" as you had it listed.

I do not see the part you are looking for listed. It may only come with a new hinge.

Are you sure that is the correct part Repair-man?

If you search factory part number 8268990 on the APP site it takes you to the part you posted the URL for.

If you search part number 8268990 at RepairClinic it shows you this part.

That is the part, same as the picture above.

That part is in his photo, but he seems to be asking about "a small rubber band type part".

Then in his photo there seems to be a white arrow pointing to that black rubber part on the hinge.

There is also a black friction pad which is shown on the tub parts diagram, it is not a rubber band but is a black sticky pad taped on the side of the tub where the hinge rubs to dampen it some. It is not a rubber band. That may have been jerry-rigged by someone else. The new style pad sticks alongside of the hinge, not over the tip.

The part I am looking for is next to the arrow. It works like a friction pad to prevent the washer door from closing while loading the dishes. It is round, like a band. It reminds me of the red bands they put over lobster claws like you see in the supermarkets tanks. Now that I have a few part numbers I might be able locate it.

Turns out the rubber part I needed is only sold with the hinge, about $60.00 each  ouch!!!  I took some car heater hose slipped it over the hinge, added a spray of silicone. Now it works like new.
