Maytag Neptune makes a very loud unbearable noise during spin cycle

Hello,

I googled today and found this website.

I bought a Maytag Neptune back in 1998.  It has worked beautifully all these years.  However, in the past month, there is this very loud noise during the final spin.  The washer is in the garage and even if I shut the door I can still hear the very loud noise on the final spin.

I still can wash clothes.  I do not have any water leaks.  It is just the noise is very, very loud.

Any suggestions is appreciated.

Something might be caught in the basket and rubbing the tub maybe?

The model number is on the top left side of the control panel almost in back.

You'd need new tub bearings or a new outer tub...a much discussed topic in this forum.
