Ever did a reversing valve change out?

Yes I Have.  I would encourage any tips though.  I may be doing something wrong or missing something.  I must first locate one at a good price.  I think I'll add a site glass and a inline filter dryer for good measure.  I got some good silver and a nice torch, just now need the time and the part.

Be sure to use some sort of heat block on the new valve, such as a wet rag to dampen the heat from your torch as you solder the valve into place. Too much heat will ruin the cylinder seal in the valve worse than before. Use as little heat as possible to effect the weld. I personally  prefer a twin-tip torch for this procedure.

sounds like it could be a filter drier[need to be a reversable type]restriction

It has the original filter dryer that is located by the compressor along with the accumulater.
 Still finding the time to work on it.

That is most likely a screen.
When you do the change out on the RV also install a bi-flow filter drier on the high side line.

   Well finally found the time to fix my own unit!  I sucked it dry twice.  Filled it back up to 9 lbs and 15 ounces ran it  and either I had non-compressble gas or it was something stuck or moisture in the system.  Its not perfect but its better than wires for heat.  I had just received the new reversing valve and coil but with no rain thought I'd give it another try before cutting it out.  I appreciate everyones advice and help.   I just don't like cutting up any system.  Found a manual from a Bards Manufacturing that was established in 1914 that answered every question I ever wanted to ask.  It actually calls a airconditioner what it is not what is now a condenser unit.
