What removes baked on soap/calcium from dishwasher

I am talking about the hard, calcium like residue from the soap dispenser area as there was a problem and the soap just slowly drained down the door and its the rinse cycle did not clean it, but the drying cycle drained it.  Any ideas.

Btw, how can you keep the soap fresh if you can also program the dishwasher to come on during the middle of the night?  As my manual states to put the soap in the dispenser just before it runs.

The first rule is to never use gel soaps!

If you use the tablets, which are superior in every way, they can be dropped into the bottom of the tub without ever having to use the dispenser.

To get rid of the calcium buildup use Dishwasher Magic.

Okay, heard that gel soaps suck but never had any issues with my old dishwasher. Why are they bad and can you give me your opinion on soap from best to worst. I have used glass magic before as we do have hard water in this area. Thanks

You may have a water volume issue at this point so the detergent problem is moot. Read the answer I provided to you on your other post, which should have been attached to this one.
